- Anago is a nonprofit agency that supports people with complex needs such as adolescent females who are deemed in need of protection, youth who are in trouble with the law and at risk in the community, and persons with developmental or psychical challenges.
- Anago's programs are funded by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, and Ontario Job Creation Parnerships and Cargill Cares Committee
YOUTH SERVICES
- Anago's Youth Justice Services and Child and Family Intervention Services provide therapeutic care and counselling to "at risk" youth.
- Promotes the development of responsible attitudes, values, and skills that will improve the youth's ability to succeed when they return to their families or other community placements.
- Through on-site school programs, in conjunction with the TVDSB, youth are expected to continue their education at their own pace with helps them experience academic success.
PROGRAMS:
- Anago-Parkhill Therapeutic Care Residence with provides residential supports to female youth in need of protection. (Experienced abuse and/or mental health diagnoses)
- Genest Detention Centre for Youth (GDCY) is a secure detention facility that supports male youth in conflict with the law. Youth are provided with a therapeutic experience that is based on building positive relationships, positive decision making and skill building so that they can permanently be disengaged from the justice system.
- King Street Detention is an open detention facility that provides rehabilitation and reintegrative services to male youth. Youth are supervised by workers who deliver holistic, restorative, and culturally sensitive programming specifically designed to meet the needs of individual youth. The programming strives to ease reintegration into the community and aids in the prevention of future involvement with the justice system.
